Looking back at what God did in 2024

2024 has been an incredible year in the life of Salem Chapel, and we have so much to thank the Lord for! As we close out this year, we want to pause and reflect on all He has accomplished in and through our church family. Together, we celebrate His goodness, provision, and faithfulness.

Our mission has remained clear: to make, mobilize, and multiply disciples who represent the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every man, woman, and child.

This year, we witnessed God’s provision in extraordinary ways. Through your generosity and faithful stewardship, over $xx million was given to the mission God has entrusted to us. These resources have been multiplied to create kingdom impact—here in Winston-Salem, across our nation, and around the world.

We celebrated 20 YEARS of God’s faithfulness as a church body, and opened the M3 Innovation Center where we have already seen God multiply our discipleship and missional opportunities both inside our church and in our local community. And we continued to see people learning what it means to abide with Jesus—and experiencing how he makes a difference not just for our eternity, but in our everyday lives.

While numbers are never the ultimate goal, they represent lives transformed by the power of the Gospel, and that is worth celebrating! As you watch the video below, you’ll see a glimpse of the incredible ways God is at work: families discipled, leaders equipped, communities served, and people mobilized to make a difference.

Looking ahead to 2025, we are expectant and prayerful for what God will continue to build through this church family.

Thank you for being part of this church community. Your commitment makes a difference. As we move forward together in faith, we trust that God will use every resource, every moment of obedience, and every step of faith to see lives transformed and disciples made, mobilized, and multiplied for His honor and glory.
Here’s to what God has done in 2024—and to the greater things He will do in 2025!

“Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us— to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

(Ephesians 3:20-21)

Kids and Students

God continues to use Salem Chapel to equip families to disciple their children and students and help them grow into the next generation of disciple makers.

In Salem Kids we saw our weekly attendance grow by 33%, as more children learned what it means to abide with Jesus in meaningful ways.

Salem Kids hosted exciting events that reached families in our church and city including Worship and Wiggles, Movie Mondays, Little Advenutres, Easter Egg Hunt. An exciting update to our annual Trunk or Treat was partnering with other local churches and community members to join the Boston Thurmond Boo fest!

In Thrive Students we have seen an increase of 26% in our weekly attendance. Over 60 students attended our Fall Retreat which is a chance for students to get away from the normal distractions of life and spend time adding with Jesus.

One of the highlights of 2025 is the continued partnership between Thrive and Salem Kids. We saw over 50 families participate in our second annual Family Week and attend our regular parent equipping zoom calls.

Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited to build on this momentum as we continue to partner with families to make, mobilize and multiply disciples of all ages.

Adults

God is changing lives as people continue to abide with Him and experience how Jesus really does make a difference not only for eternity, but in their everyday lives. This year over 600 people participated in biblical community including over 200 people meeting weekly in life groups, as well as various abide groups, mens and women’s discipleship events, abide pottery classes, our brand new apologetics class and more.

In Restore, people are continuing to learn how their story is a small part of God’s greater story by using the gospel framework. This year over 40 people went through Restore including a team of 10 from Vertical Church yeovil as they begin to start their own gospel care ministry.

We have heard countless stories of people in our church being used by God where they live, work and play to make, mobilize and multiply disciples of Jesus Christ. We are so excited to see what God continues to do in the lives of adults in 2025.

Watch the video below to hear how even though Terri didn’t feel ready God used her in a very big way.

Missions

We are so excited about the ways God continues to use Salem Chapel in our city, across our nation, and around the globe. Here are just a few highlights from 2024:

In March, a team of 16 people returned to the Dominican Republic to assist with kids programming, lead adult Bible studies, and care for local pastors and leaders. In 2025, we are thrilled to be sending multiple teams on mission trips to the DR, starting with a pastoral equipping trip in January. You can hear a short testimony from Pam Murray about what God did in her life through this year’s DR trip.

This year we once again partnered with other gospel-centered churches in Forsyth County for Awaken Forsyth—a month-long prayer initiative to pray for every resident of the county. Salem Chapel alone prayed for over 10% of Forsyth County.

We also had the chance to help launch a new community outreach event, the Boston-Thurmond Boo Festival. This neighborhood partnership, alongside eight other churches and non-profits, is something we are excited to see continue to grow.
